Age of Adaline will be released on April 24, 2015.

After miraculously remaining 29 years old for almost eight decades, Adaline Bowman [Blake Lively] has lived a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones [Michiel Huisman] reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents [Harrison Ford and Kathy Baker] threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever.

This sounds like a wonderful movie! I can’t wait to see it! What I’m really looking forward to as well are all of the fashions, hairstyles, and makeup throughout the decades from the 20s to the present!

In the 20s hairstyles and hemlines got shorter. Women wanted pale, porcelain skin with a hint of rouge, which was a cream blush. Smokey eyes and cupid’s bow lips with red lipstick were on trend.

In the 30s fashion and makeup were highly influenced by the new full color fashion magazines and Hollywood Glamour. Styles became much more refined. Heavy kohl eyeliner and pencil thin brows were the trends. Red lipstick was still the most popular color.

In the 40s foundation became the thing. You usually used a shade two darker than your natural skin tone. High arching brows covered with matte shadows took over as did mascara and orange-red lips!

The 50s were all about Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. Pastel colors, pink lipsticks, foundation to give you that peaches and cream look, winged eyeliner, and lots and lots of mascara we the makeup trends. Everyone wanted to look ultra-feminine!

The 60s brought on mod culture, geometric patterns, and hippie styles. Flicked eye liner, matte shadows, dark eyes, and pale lips were the trends. False eyelashes were THE fashion accessory of the 60s!

The 70s brought about a natural beauty trend. Foundations lightened up. The goal was to have a natural glow that looked as if you weren’t wearing any makeup at all!

The 80s makeup looks went for bigger and bolder. Bold eyes, bold cheeks, bold lips. Though many still held onto the natural look.

The 90s toned everything back down. Nude lips, glitter eye shadows, and white liner on the bottom lash line were the new trends.

Today, we have seen a resurgence of the 90s makeup trends as well as new ideas on contouring and thicker eyebrows. Natural looks are also back in.

I love the 50’s look. I wish I had the patience to make that kind of effort!
