Can Sleeping on a Bad Mattress Affect Your Body?

Research shows that despite spending almost a third of our lives in bed, we still haven’t got it quite right when it comes to shopping for a mattress. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying that we don’t know the importance of getting a comfortable mattress. I know that you love the feel of using a soft bed!

Early this year, I had to replace the mattress in my son’s room. Every morning he kept complaining of back pains and other aches in the body. So, I decided to seek help from a leading mattress review website where I gained some interesting tips. With that said, here’s how your body is trying to tell you to buy a new mattress.

Poor Mental Focus

If you find yourself ‘zoning’ out during the day, then it’s because you didn’t have enough sleep. You’re often withdrawn and might even sneak off from the daily work routine just to catch a nap. While I wouldn’t blame you, it’s still quite unhealthy as it slows down the performance of the body.

Are you still sleeping on your college mattress? If you are, then you should know that it’s the main reason why you’re slacking off at work. Once you get a new memory foam or spring mattress, you’ll enjoy peaceful sleep and wake up feeling refreshed!

Cause of Allergies

A poorly maintained or old mattress has a lot of dust mites as well as other microscopic creatures. These bugs feed on the dead cells from your body, many of which are present in your bed. I discovered that a majority of people are allergic to these pests. Such cases are even more severe for those who have asthma.

Washing pillowcases and sheets in hot water helps in removing these dangerous insects. You can also choose to clean the entire mattress using a vacuum. However, if the problem persists, it’s probably fate telling you to get a new mattress!

Prolonged Back Pains

Most people are shopping for mattresses today because they’re just tired of the constant back pains. I’ve been in such a situation too, and it’s not always there fault. You’ll even find that a good number of them didn’t know they were sleeping on the wrong mattress. Most think that their backaches are a result of doing strenuous work during the day. Well, this is not always the case!

A firm foam mattress will give your spine the support it needs. It will fold according to the shape of your body and straighten all muscles to ensure that you’re cozy all through the night. However, retailers will often try to convince you that their products are the best for your back. To avoid getting the wrong mattress, ask if you can lie on it for a while and you’ll get the best brand!

From above reasons, it’s clear that sleeping on a poor mattress has nothing but negative effects on your body. From lack of sleep to reduced performance during the day, getting a new mattress is now more crucial than ever! Even so, I know that you’ll use these tips and reward yourself with a comfortable bed for a more relaxing sleeping experience!
