Chili’s Cinnamon Apples

One of my favorite side dishes at Chili’s is the cinnamon apples. I adore cinnamon. It is the greatest spice ever invented next to garlic. I set out to try to recreate their recipe in an extremely healthy way so that I could trick my kids into eating a good helping of fruit. This recipe is insanely easy, after you peel all the apples of course. I really wish I had one of these automatic apple peelers.

Ingredients
9 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup sugar
2 T cornstarch
2 T ground cinnamon
1 t ground nutmeg
2 T butter, cubed

The first thing you want to do is to get the apples peeled and sliced.

Place all of the apples in a microwave safe bowl. Top with the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir around until all of the apples are coated with yummy spices. Lay the cubed butter on top of the apples.

Cover the apple mixture and put in the microwave for 15 minutes. Stir the mixture every 5 minutes of cooking. That’s it. Easy right?
