We all know that in order for our bodies to function well, we have to eat. Basically fuel our bodies. In order to push your body beyond just regular, everyday activities, you have to fuel your muscles. And your muscles want protein.
Rockin’ Refuel is a protein milk drink that helps you reach the level of performance that you want to and helps your muscles to recover after you have pushed them to the limit.
Rockin’ Refuel sent me several samples to review.
There are four different types of drinks that Rockin’ Refuel carries. Each serves your body in a different way.
If you are wanting to build muscles, try the Muscle Builder or Lean Builder. Both are packed with protein so your muscles can put on mass or lean muscle.
Post workout? Try Lean Recovery or Muscle Recovery.
All of the drinks come in three flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.
But are they good?
Most of the protein drinks I have tried, either premixed or from powder, have a distinctly metallic taste from the iron and other vitamins. You don’t get that with Rockin’ Refuel in the chocolate or strawberry flavors. In fact, they taste just like if you were drinking Nestle milk. There is a slight metallic taste in the vanilla, but it doesn’t linger and is barely noticeable. None of the drink have any kind of aftertaste, which is one of my major complaints with protein drinks.
But Rockin’ Refuel has a one up on the competition in another area. Sugar.
Take a look at the nutritional information on any protein drink and it’s probably full of sugar to make it taste better. And sugar takes away from all that hard work you just did at the gym. And if you are diabetic like me, it means you can’t have it. In fact, when people ask me if they should use protein drinks, I say no simply based on the sugar content. But Rockin’ Refuel has changed my mind, as long as you aren’t picking up those high sugar protein drinks!
Rockin Refuel has a much lower sugar content and net carb content than most of the protein drinks out there. The Lean Builder has 6g of sugar and 8 net carbs. The Lean Recovery has no sugar added at all and a 2:1 carb to protein ratio. That means it’s exactly what my body needs, and your body too.
Which means that I can grab one on the way to yoga!
