Products in the ipsy bag:

Ipsy May 2014

I am not crazy about this month’s bag. It’s an eco bag with green leaves and a burlap look. Just not my style.

Pur~lisse pur~moist hydra balance moisturizer, Retail $55 for 1.7oz, Sample 0.5oz value $16.17

Pur~lisse pur~moist hydra balance moisturizer

This is an expensive moisturizer! It feels very nice. Not too thick and not too thin. It is anti-aging, which is probably the reason for the cost. It smells like moisturizer basically. I have never heard of this brand but I will be using the sample. Because of the cost, unless it vacuums, I probably won’t buy the full size.

Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask, Full size $35 for 50ml, Sample 10ml value $7

Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask

This smells really nice and I am always up for trying a great mask. This is a peel off mask. I have mostly used clay masks in the past, but I do like the peel off ones a lot. This says it is for all skin types.

Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50, Full size $12.99 for 6oz, Sample 1oz Value $2.16

Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50

Sunscreen in a subscription box doesn’t excite me. This one is oxybenzone free, paraben free, retinyl palmitate free, non-greasy, non-mano, and synthetic fragrance free so that is nice if you are going to send me sunscreen. It does feel a lot less greasy than many other sunscreens. But it just isn’t exciting.

Balanced Guru No Frizz Organic Sesame and Lemongrass Balancing Oil, Retail $13 for the travel size which is what was in the bag

Balanced Guru No Frizz Organic Sesame and Lemongrass Balancing Oil

I do like that this oil comes with a dropper for easier use. However, I don’t really like the smell. It’s pretty strong. More like what I would expect from a eucalyptus and lemon grass essential oil than a hair oil. I will give it a try and see if the smell lingers. If it does, I won’t be using this product. Even it it does tame my crazy flyaways.

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo, est $14 for 4 colors, .22oz, sample 2 colors .07oz value $4.45

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo

Pacifica is a 100% Vegan and cruelty free company. I was unable to find these duos on their website. They do have quads for $14. I like these colors. The pigment is good and these colors will work great together for a 2 color shadow look. The lighter color is a satin off white. The darker color is a matte grape purple.

Overall I’m not excited about this month. I will use all of the products except the hair oil if that strong smell lingers. I’m not unhappy about any of the products. I really like the eye shadow. This bag just isn’t as exciting as some past bags. The products are more staples than fun, which is what I have come to expect form my ipsy bag.

It was a great value. The bag cost $10 and was worth $42.78 plus the bag. Subscribe here.

What did you think of this month’s ipsy? What did you get?
