I think it's wonderful that people want to help find a cure for cancer, BUT….
When you consider that we've donated and raised $20 billion towards cancer research, but we are no closer to a cure, than we were in 1971, then I think it's time to start asking some tough questions. We are still using inhumane treatments like chemotherapy, which is derived from mustard gas, and which causes further cancers down the track (which is terribly good for business, if you are a pharmaceutical company – repeat customer and all.)
The truth is that there are ALREADY cures for all kinds of cancer (just google gerson therapy, simoncini method, and have a read of "Breast Cancer Deception" which can be found via Google.) but these cures are not as profitable as drugs and surgery, so they never get any acknowledgement, even though they have an 80% – 90% success rate.
Oncology is one of the most profitable industries in the world, why would they find a cure? If they do discover a "cure", it will only be more (highly profitable) drugs.
For instance, who would be doing the research, that you are raising money for? Maybe Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research? Did you realise that many of the directors/board members are also involved in pharmaceutical companies, namely Bristol Myers-Squibb, the world's leading supplier of chemotherapy. Anyone seeing a conflict of interest here??? The only thing they are "researching" is ways to make more money.
I'm glad you want to help, and I applaud your compassion, I really do…I just think that raising money for big business to develop and patent more profitable drugs is not really the best way to help cancer sufferers. What we should be doing is kicking up a huge stink as to why natural cures are being suppressed, while people continue to suffer and die, all in the name of profit…
