No Maintenance

in Confessions

I was informed a few days ago that I am the exact opposite of high maintenance, which is no maintenance.

Apparently being no maintenance is just as bad as being high maintenance because it doesn't allow room for other people to do things for you.

Why should I ask someone else to do something I am perfectly capable of doing myself?

Should I pretend I can't reach something on a high shelf? Should I pretend something is too heavy to lift?

I have no idea. It seems rather stupid to me.

I know how to work duct tape, super glue, caulk, hammers, screw drivers, power drills, staple guns, nail guns, etc.

Here's the thing. Men have this innate desire to rescue women. It stems from back when men rode around on horses wearing armor and carrying swords, or clubs, or there were wooly mammoths to contend with. Haven't seen one of those in years.

Here's the other thing. All of those Rapunzel's and Cinderella's didn't have one major thing I do.

Need to know how to fix something? Google it.

Need to know how get somewhere? Google it.

The best sandwich in town? Google.

New story to tell your kids at bedtime? Google.

Laugh? Google.

Cry? Google.

Not only do I have Google, I also have access to it anytime, anywhere.

So yeah, I guess I am no maintenance. Unless you work for Google. Deal with it. I like being a strong woman.

Google is a beautiful item for looking up exam answers when you cant find it in the bloody 14 text books they give you for one exam.  Not always right, but faster than scanning 8,000 pages of pdf files!

We are cut from the same cloth lady!  I absolutely LOVE this post.  I am a do it yourself kind of girl too!  I don't have time to wait for someone to come along and help me.  Help is nice sometimes, like when I am dangling from the roof because I fell off the ladder.  True story 🙂

Google is a woman's best friend!
So glad to to have found your blog 🙂
