Stop the sky beneath my shadow.
Honey roses light my vision
after delicate blue waters
pound through soaring bitter rains.

Surviving amid weeds.

Tight-lipped lily beaten to near grave
Awaken. Rise up from sewage and
face your art, naked.

Lindsey,

That was excellent! “Honey roses light my vision” will be staying with me for days. Glad to have found your blog through SITS!

you have a wonderful gift with words. This poem is so delicate and yet has a powerful undertone. Perfect for this week’s prompt as well.

Thank you so much! Photographs often inspire my poems and my poems often inspire my photographs.

Beautiful poem & imagery. Loved the line – "surviving amid weeds."
