SquareHue Subscription Review – May 2014

in Beauty

Last month was the first month I have gotten the SquareHue subscription. I was really impressed with the formula of the polish and loved the colors. The polishes are also 3-free.

I still love the formula, but I’m not excited about the colors this month.

Each month a new city inspires the colors. May was Rio so all of the colors are very bright. I don’t really wear bright colors with my wardrobe.

Copacobana, the blue is a bright glitter polish. It’s pretty bold. I do wear a lot of bold polish, but not a lot of glitter. I look at it and think that is never coming off.

SquareHue copacabana

The green is a lovely shade. It is really bright and bold. I will wear this color, just not very often. It may be fantastic for summer though.

SquareHue leblon

The microglitter yellow, ipanema, is a color I never wear. Ever. I have yellow undertones in my skin so when I wear yellow I just look like I have jaundice. And I have actually had jaundice. About 6 years ago. Trust me when I tell you it isn’t a good look for me.

However, I know someone who this will look stunning on so I’m going to give it to her.

So not really happy with the colors this month. It’s really my personal preference and not the quality of the product.

SquareHue is $19.99 a month and you can pause at any time. A portion of all proceeds go to charity.

What did you think of the Rio Collection?

These colors are fabulous! Which do you like the most, Julep/Maven or this subscription?

I like them both. They both have their pros and cons. With Julep you get to choose from several boxes so you get to somewhat pick your colors. With SquareHue you get what you get. The Julep formula is thicker than the SquareHue Formula. I like the SquareHue bottles better. It’s kind of a toss up for me.
