Umba Subscription Box Review

I love finding unique items to decorate my apartment with. When you have limited real estate for display items, but a palette so bland you have to spice it up, finding those perfect items to showcase your style are the Holy Grail of decor.

Sometimes I make my own decor items, sometimes I scour antique stores. But it’s always been a lot of work on my part.

Until Umba Box that is.

The Umba Subscription box is full of curated handmade goods. And it’s not just home decor! You might get jewelry, accessories, bath products, or products specific for men, women, or children. Basically, if it’s something incredible and it’s handmade, Umba might send it to you.

Here is the unboxing video and some information about each product.

The first product was a calendar that has a unique design for each month. Each month in on high quality matte card stock. The designs are stunning with bright colors and patterns that relate to each month.

Umba Calendar

I hung mine on the wall in my getting ready area.

You could also get a small plate stand and use it as a desk calendar like in this photo from @vegas_nay.

Basically, I need one on my desk at home, one at work, and one in my getting ready area. The retail value is $24 for the calendar.

The second item in the box was a double wick candle. The retail value of the candle is $8. I did a little bit of research on handmade candles and $8 is actually a really decent price for this size candle.

Paddywax candle

First this candle earned my undying devotion before I even opened it. It has an Oscar Wilde signature sticker on the top. It also comes in this great tin.

Obviously I’ve tried the candle. And it was so lovely! Lovely is the only word that accurately describes this candle. It isn’t a sweet scent. It has cedarwood, thyme, and basil scents and it’s a soy candle!

I did end up putting the candle on my nightstand. When I burned it the other night it had such a lovely scent (see, there is that word again!). It was a full, rich scent that you can smell. You know you are burning a candle, but it wasn’t overwhelming. It was just right. I can be very sensitive to smell if it gets strong.

I actually have started opening the tin when I get in bed even if I’m not going to burn it because I catch a nice waft of the scent at moments. It is a happy, cozy smell.

I will be buying more of these candles.

Overall the box cost was $25 and the value was $32. Well worth it in my opinion.

Umba Box has two subscription box sizes. This was the Discover Box. The Discover Box costs $25 + $5 shipping. There is also a larger box that comes with more items, the Delight Box, which is $49 + $7 shipping. You can save on both subscription sizes by prepaying for 3, 6, or 12 months.

You can find out more about Umba Box by visiting their website.

Umba Box provided this box free of charge for review purposes. All opinions are mine and were not influenced by the company in any way.
