Worn Out Mommy

August 17, 2010

in Confessions,Lifestyle

To clean or not to clean
that is the question.
Is is better to suffer through
whines and cries,
or go to the park?
Should I take up the
piles of laundry and by
washing, folding, and putting away
to end them?
To nap? It seems I sleep no more.
But if I sleep dreams
of carpet stains and colored walls invade.
I wish I had a maid
so I could sleep, shower
and feel human instead of
this worn out mommy.

I hear you, Sitstah … although I am obsessively organized, I really really hate to clean.  The only thing that comes close to distracting me is listening to podcast interviews on topics I enjoy.
Still, though, I'm dreaming for lottery winnings (or maybe a few blogging bucks??) to eliminate this dreary task from my life.

i remember those days! i joined a local health club just so I could get 2 hours of child care day. not really to exercise, but so i could talk to adults and take a shower without someone trying to climb in!

Not a mommy but I can certainly concur with all the other parts of the poem. LOL

I'm with you girlfriend and my kids are grown! I need one of those futuristic self cleaning houses because otherwise it NEVER gets done!

Great poem! Yes, it does get less tiring – although for some of us, the laundry and housecleaning are still a challenge to get done! Found you through SITS 31DBBB.

I hear you! I have days where I am still so exhausted and my youngest is sleeping through the nights now.

So true. I hate cleaning but do it because I can't stand a mess…a maid..that is like a fantasy. If only our children could transfer some energy to us.
